A tradition
that stays
alive.
The Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra was founded from the broadcasting orchestra active in Jerusalem in the late 1930s. Through nearly nine decades, it has developed into one of Israel’s leading musical institutions, combining canonical repertoire, contemporary composition, Israeli premières and international collaboration.
The orchestra’s history belongs to Jerusalem. Its artistic language has always travelled beyond the city through tours, broadcasts, recordings and encounters with major conductors, composers and soloists.
